Kumo has two different types of capacity. It is a 1 litre, 5.5 cup rice cooker or 2.2 litre multicooker.
Let’s take the first two capacities – 1 litre or 5.5 cup. Rice cooker capacities are always referred to in litres or cups. Kumo is a 1 litre capacity rice cooker and it can therefore cook 5.5 cups of uncooked white rice or 4 cups of uncooked brown rice – each cup is 180ml/g. So, if you want to cook 1 cup of white rice, that would be 180g or if you want to cook the full capacity of 5.5 cups, that would be 1kg of uncooked rice.
The third capacity of 2.1 litres refers to Kumo’s multicooking capacity. This means that the inner bowl can hold a maximum of 2.2 litres of liquid.

Joli, très fonctionnel, ce cuiseur a fait la joie de son nouveau propriétaire. Il se dit ravi et impressionné par la qualité de cuisson du riz. Une note importante : les différents types de cuisson suivant les différents types de riz. Un plus indéniable

I used to find it very difficult to make perfect basmati rice but this is game changer. I have only used the white rice function as I make basmati but this is amazing. Initially I found the rice to be a bit dry, but the trick is to add more water than the recommended line. This pot makes 3 cups comfortably (any more would be hard to manipulate in the pot but still doable). The 3 cups are 180ml, not the standard 250ml. Its easy to use and the rice is perfect – no need to soak the rice – just wash, add water, salt and any other seasonings (for pulao I add peas and fried onions etc) and shut… magic rice and it doesnt stick.

So I need to explain, that I always felt that getting a rice cooker would be a huge waste of money. I thought I could just use my instant pot and get the results I wanted. So after years of using my instant pot and ALWAYS being disappointed in the texture of my rice, we decided to get a rice cooker because if we are going to cook rice several times a week, we may as well get it done right. So onto the product…. It is very lightweight and can cook a decent amount of rice. Instead of my rice either turning into pure mush or being rock hard from undercooking, as with the instant pot, this actually cooks the rice to perfection IF you get the ratio of rice to water right. Friendly tip, measure your cups of rice with the provided cup and not with a regular measuring cup. Apparently they have different measurements.

Me change des petits cuiseur à riz que j’utilise depuis très lontemps, pas de revêtement antiadhésif ce que je recherchais, et de nombreuses fonctions à découvrir. Je viens de tester “lowcarb” et c’est parfait !
