Panda has two different types of capacity. It is a 0.6 litre, 3.5 cup rice cooker or 1.3 litre multicooker.
Let’s take the first two capacities – 0.6 litres or 3.5 cup. Rice cooker capacities are always referred to in litres or cups. Panda is a 0.6 litres capacity rice cooker and it can therefore cook 3.5 cups of uncooked white rice or 2.5 cups of uncooked brown rice – each cup is 180ml/g. So, if you want to cook 1 cup of white rice, that would be approximately 180g or if you want to cook the full capacity of 3.5 cups, that would be approximately 630g of uncooked rice.
The third capacity of 1.3 litres refers to Panda’s multi-cooking capacity. This means that the inner bowl can hold a maximum of 1.3 litres of liquid.

I bought this for my son to use in college in August 2022 (now 6/23). It’s a nice unit. I picked this one as opposed to my Zojirushi due to its more compact size (same rice cup size tho), he doesn’t have much counter space. It does all the same things and he says it makes great rice. I don’t think he’s used the steamer basket but it’s nice to have that option. It is easy to clean – the top part within the unit is removable, which was important. Delivery was fine, instructions were there. Good purchase! If he takes care of it, it should last a long time. I did think it was a bit pricey – less than my Zoji but more than other comparable models. You pay for what you get in most cases though so I wasn’t looking for the cheapest.

Just a quick review since I haven’t had this rice cooker very long. First off it was boxed beautifully, nothing was broken or missing. Easy set up, just clean the unit before using, them feel free to make a fresh batch of rice.

I was looking for a replacement for my Black and Decker, single switch rice cooker that never had consistent results (it sucked). I’ve only made brown rice in this so far, but I’ve been quite happy with the results. I did have to add more water than the directions say to use but that is normally the case when cooking rice in higher altitudes.

Between a 3.5 and 4. Looks great. Perfect size. Easy to use. Need to add more water than usual or the rice doesn’t keep well in the fridge. I had a tiger for a long time and it broke. The tiger cooked much better but it’s pricy and didn’t have the smaller size I wanted. All in all, it’s a good product. Does the job.

The panda rice cooker does more than cook rice. I cooked my first servings of rice and the Panda cooker cooked it perfectly. There is room for error, it is as if the rice cooker knows just how you might like the rice. So happy with it.

I really like this rice cooker, and it’s fast from start to EAT. I have an extremely small home, and this fits on my counter top neatly. If any improvement could be made, I would say change to the steamer basket to stainless steel and add a little lift out handle. It has many other functions too.

I bought this to cook rice. It does other stuff, but I just want it to make rice! It does not have a super big capacity, especially for brown rice, so keep that in mind if you’re looking for something that can cook tons of rice at once. It makes enough brown rice for our family of four and it makes enough white rice for a dinner party of 6, maybe even 8. I have used it regularly since I bought it, primarily for brown rice, though i’ve made white and jasmine rice as well. It’s perfect moist fluffy rice every time. Put in the rice and water (or broth), press the button, walk away. 20-40 minutes for white rice depending on the grain, 50-70 for brown, depending how much you’re cooking. It’ll automatically keep it warm without drying it out after cooking, which is a nice feature. I’ll usually just start the rice cooker and if it’s done 30 or 45 minutes before everything else it’s fine. Dirt simple clean up. I was pretty good at cooking rice on a stove top. But this is SO MUCH easier and the clean up is a breeze. I’m really happy with this rice cooker.
