What Is Super Kernel Basmati Rice?
Super Kernel is the ultimate basmati, nature’s longest basmati rice. Bred after years of research in the paddy fields of Punjab, this rice is distinguished for its length, exceptional quality, exclusive aroma, and superb taste. Truly divine, Yum Asia's Super Kernel basmati is cultivated in northern Pakistan using Himalayan river water to quench it's thirst. It is carefully handpicked and then undergoes the process of ageing and partial steaming, which enables the rice to absorb nutrients and changes the starch so that it cooks into a firmer, less sticky dish of rice than regular white rice. It has an average grain length of 8.30mm which on cooking elongates to double its size.

Yum Asia has sourced the finest Super Kernel rice by carefully selecting farmers of Pakistan who are geographically located to grow the best quality Super Kernel variety of grain. After cultivation every single grain has undergone thorough inspection by rice experts before reaching the our rice mill where it's sorted and quality checked by the strictest standards before export. We then sell it in generously sized 5kg pillow bags simply because we don't do small measures!

Basmati Rice That Screams Authentic
There are several types of basmati rice types and it can be confusing. Yum Asia chose the Super Kernel variety after many months of extensively testing multiple rice mills and grain types. We then run the grain through a sequence of rice cooker and saucepan cooking cycles to make sure we get the best tasting grain with the optimal texture, grain length, aroma and most importantly excellent taste.

Primarily used in central Asian dishes but is very versatile as a general white rice long grain for many dishes. More specifically Indian and Persian dishes such as complements to curries, pilau etc. Good for tempering spicy dishes and great texture for used as a base rice with sauce dishes or even as a dish in it's own right.
