Our kenzai cup is part of a growing movement to stop the use of single-use ‘paper’ cups, it’s estimated that in 30 years use of the modern ‘paper’ cups that are used virtually everywhere over 2 trillion of them have ended up in landfill and due to the plastic content of these cups, less than 1% have been recycled. Kenzai (健在) in Japanese means strong, healthy, hearty and robust and that’s exactly what the cup is!

Our kenzai cups have several features that are unique and make them stand out from the reusable beverage cups available. These are, a bamboo (not silicone) screw lock lid, a thick thermal grip band, an extremely versatile capacity of 400ml (14oz), are made from 100% organic sustainable bamboo and are available in 8 unique designs.
Made from bamboo fibre, the most sustainable and fastest growing crop in the world kenzai is BPA, phthalate free. It’s strong, dishwasher safe (all of the mug including the lid and sleeve) and if you treat it right should last for years!
A major complaint about other reusable cups on the market are silicone lids. Although the silicone is food grade, people have still said it ‘taints’ the drink in the cup. So we made the decision to fit kenzai with a unique bamboo screw lock lid; this has the added bonus of stopping leaks as well as limiting the silicon on the cup.
Kenzai is great to drink from, it’s hard to believe this is a reusable cup, and comes in this stylish doughnuts print design. Being 14oz (400ml), it’s big enough to suit everyone – giving space at the top even if you only buy 12oz drinks! Kenzai can even be used for iced drinks, smoothies or juices, the handy stopper on the top can double as a straw hole, making it even easier to enjoy your drinks in the summer.

Lovely travel cup that does what it says on the tin. Nice simple design and the rubber cover prevents you from burning your hand (the cup itself can get very hot). Just a warning, the lid can misalign and sometimes my drink has leaked but it’s something I’ve become used to checking. May sound silly,
but make sure you remove the little seal from the centre of the lid otherwise the tea won’t come out!!

This is a really handy travel cup. Keeps drinks warm, has a nice feel and enjoyable to drink from. The lid screws on securely so won’t pop off and the grip is very comfortable when holding the cup. Fits in my car cup holder very well and does the job I need it to.

This a very nice looking and practical cup, which is also a good size. I have included a picture of it with a comparison to a Thermos cup of a similar size. The Kenzai cup is 400ml, and the Thermos one in the picture is 420ml. So this is only 20ml smaller but a much more compact and portable size which is ideal for when you are on the move. You don’t get that horrible plasticky taste from it either which you can get from the Thermos one and other similar products due to their plastic lids. The lid on this cup is also made from Bamboo. The rubber grip in the middle stops your hand from getting too hot and you can easily place it in your cars cup holders as it doesn’t have a silly handle on it, which in my opinion is unnecessary for this type of cup. However the only reason I have given this 3 stars instead of four is for two reasons. One, the cup becomes stained inside and you can never get it back to it’s original colour because it is made from Bamboo. This I could live with, but what made me really put this down to 3 stars instead of 4 is that the little plastic opening on the top of the lid. After repeated use, this doesn’t clip backwards as it should and this makes it tricky to you to drink from (and I’ve only had it for about 4 and a half months) because it keeps popping forward when you are trying to take a sip. Due to Covid-19 it hasn’t had as much use as it should have so maybe it won’t even last that long without flicking back on, or I’ve just had a bit of a dodgy bit on it. Overall I think this is actually a great cup and it’s worth giving it a try as it’s different to other cups. If you don’t mind the staining inside it, and you end up with one that has a better lid opening than my experience then it is definitely a 4 star product minimum.
