Q: Does Fuji have an ON/OFF button?

Yes! To turn Fuji OFF simply press the START button when a menu function is not selected. To turn Fuji back ON simply press the START button again.

Q: Does Fuji have a timer?

Yes, Panda has a preset timer feature . You can set this for up to 24 hours in advance , so you can have yummy rice ready for you when you get in from work or lovely hot porridge on a cold, Winters day ready for when you need warming up. To use the Fuji rice cooker timer you set the number of hours for when you want the function to complete (not when you want it to begin cooking). For example – it is 9am and you want the white rice to be ready at 1pm. You would therefore set the preset timer for 4 hours. The rice will therefore be completed and ready to eat at 1pm.

Fuji has a stainless steel inner lid and steam tray for the more health conscious. It includes our signature Joubu ceramic coated inner bowl. Joubu has rice measurement level lines are silk printed for ease of reading and durability. Fuji itself is easy to clean with removable parts. We don’t believe a rice cooker can get any more healthy than this?

Built into the lid is a condensate heating evaporator (CHE) which reduces excess moisture during and after cooking and helps collect the condensate into the water collector. Steam hits the inner lid, condenses into water and is evaporated back into steam to reduce liquid and help give more even cooking.

Basmati, Hom Mali jasmine rice , brown rice, short grain (sushi) – using it’s UMAI Smart Brain it can cook these grains not just good but how they should be cooked. By using multiple fine adjusted heating phases that our engineers at Yum Asia have calibrated, Fuji tailors each cooking function to the grain and optimises everything so what you get at the end of the cook cycle are perfect grains cooked how they should be. IH Controlled Cooking

Fuji uses a combination of UMAI Induction Heating (IH) cooking and advanced fuzzy logic (AI) to ensure rice is cooked perfectly every time. This cooking profile graph shows how UMAI with fuzzy logic adjusts the temperature of the Joubu bowl rather than using the less accurate conventional heating method. The process then calculates weight, content type, water volume, internal temperatures along with pre-programmed conditions to cook perfect rice time after time.

Fuji uses at least multiple phases of cooking types which includes preheat, absorb water, heating, boiling, steam, cool down, agitation, heat burst and keep warm with steam which are each calculated for time and temperature using Yum Asia's unique cooking profiles.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Is it ok to cook a small amount of rice in Fuji?

Yes. There isn’t any problem cooking half a cup of rice in this rice cooker. We made sure that Fuji can do this successfully – half a cup of rice comes out as perfectly as when you cook the full 3.5 cup capacity of rice.

I don't understand the capacity of Fuji

Fuji has two different types of capacity. It is a 1.0 litre, 5 cup rice cooker or 1.5 litre multicooker.

Let’s take the first two capacities – 1.0 litres or 5 cup. Rice cooker capacities are always referred to in litres or cups. Fuji is a 1.0 litres capacity rice cooker and it can therefore cook 5 cups of uncooked white rice or 3 cups of uncooked brown rice – each cup is 180ml/g. So, if you want to cook 1 cup of white rice, that would be approximately 180g or if you want to cook the full capacity of 5 cups, that would be approximately 900g of uncooked rice.

The third capacity of 1.5 litres refers to Fuji’s multi-cooking capacity. This means that the inner bowl can hold a maximum of 1.5 litres of liquid.

What is the Fuji inner bowl made from?

In our years of selling Zojirushi rice cookers, we realised that all of rice cookers on the market in the UK, Europe or the USA only had teflon/similar non-stick material inner bowls.

Based on many customer queries and opinions, we took the decision to supply an inner bowl with a premium and durable 2.5mm thick ceramic coating.We call this type of bowl – JOUBU.

The JOUBU bowl is BPA-free and PTFE-free and is hard wearing. The inner bowl also has a special honeycomb structure to help the heat disperse evenly across the bowl’s surface.

The level lines of the bowl are silk printed rather than stamped so they can be hard wearing but also easily read in low light conditions.

Returned to Yum Asia to buy a new cooker to replace my 5 years old Bamboo which has been fabulous. I was going to buy another Black bamboo but my kitchen was recently renovated to a white wood Ikea fitout and so this suits the kitchen design better. It arrived today and I have to say that the designers at Yum Asia did a very good job with this one too. Perfect all around yet again.

We had been waiting for this to be released for 6 months and finally we got it. It’s got new features too which is a nice upgrade to what we thought we were going to receive. The steam basket is now steel and not plastic. It’s a lovely well made rice maker with a good modern desig. It’s more than big enough for our family (my husband and I and 3 teenagers). We are totally thrilled with it!
