UMAI IH With AI

UMAI IH (meaning Smart Brain) fuzzy logic carefully controls every cooking phase of Fuji to produce perfect results. The UMAI IH combined with AI uses rapid fine adjustments in temperature applied to the rice contents rather than the entire cooker to give optimal cooking conditons.

Joubu 2.5mm Ceramic Coated Bowl

Fuji has a 2.5mm thick ceramic coated inner bowl. The bowl is constructed to conduct heat safely and healthily. It's designed to be extremely durable and is optimal for IH conductance and distributed heating

Superior UMAI Heating Method

UMAI IH produces excellent heat distribution and circulates the rice for full even surround heating. The IH coils are desigend to agitate the rice by creating thermal eddy currents in the bowl to evenly heat every single grain. You can see how the heat is more evenly applied to the conductive layer compared to conventional heating methods.

Hidden Under Control Panel And Display

Fuji has been designed to conceal the control panel of the unit when not in use for minimal intrusion in your kitchen. When in use the display beneath the surface of the wood effect panel lights up and the controls become active and alert.

Fuji has a stainless steel inner lid and steam tray for the more health conscious. It includes our signature Joubu ceramic caoted inner bowl. FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Yes. There isn’t any problem cooking half a cup of rice in this rice cooker. We made sure that Fuji can do this successfully – half a cup of rice comes out as perfectly as when you cook the full 3.5 cup capacity of rice.

Fuji has two different types of capacity. It is a 1.0 litre, 5 cup rice cooker or 1.5 litre multicooker.

Let’s take the first two capacities – 1.0 litres or 5 cup. Rice cooker capacities are always referred to in litres or cups. Fuji is a 1.0 litres capacity rice cooker and it can therefore cook 5 cups of uncooked white rice or 3 cups of uncooked brown rice – each cup is 180ml/g. So, if you want to cook 1 cup of white rice, that would be approximately 180g or if you want to cook the full capacity of 5 cups, that would be approximately 900g of uncooked rice.

The third capacity of 1.5 litres refers to Fuji’s multi-cooking capacity. This means that the inner bowl can hold a maximum of 1.5 litres of liquid.

UK Capacity Guide

In our years of selling Zojirushi rice cookers, we realised that all of rice cookers on the market in the UK, Europe or the USA only had teflon/similar non-stick material inner bowls.

Based on many customer queries and opinions, we took the decision to supply an inner bowl with a premium and durable 2.5mm thick ceramic coating.We call this type of bowl – JOUBU.

The JOUBU bowl is BPA-free and PTFE-free and is hard wearing. The inner bowl also has a special honeycomb structure to help the heat disperse evenly across the bowl’s surface. 

The level lines of the bowl are silk printed rather than stamped so they can be hard wearing but also easily read in low light conditions. 

Yes! To turn Fuji OFF simply press the START button when a menu function is not selected.

To turn Fuji back ON simply press the START button again.

Yes, Panda has a preset timer feature. You can set this for up to 24 hours in advance, so you can have yummy rice ready for you when you get in from work or lovely hot porridge on a cold, Winters day ready for when you need warming up.

To use the Panda rice cooker timer you set the number of hours for when you want the function to complete (not when you want it to begin cooking). 

For example – it is 9am and you want the white rice to be ready at 1pm. You would therefore set the preset timer for 4 hours. The rice will therefore be completed and ready to eat at 1pm.

        Brilliant rice cooker, worth the money

        This cooker works brilliantly. The portion sizes are great for a family of 4, and the inner ceramic induction bowl is really good and makes a very nice serving bowl as well. The timer is easy to use, and it makes excellent porridge, congee, and also adding ingredients directly with the rice works very well. It’s easy to clean and the design is cool. It is more expensive than other rice cookers and you are paying partly for the design – it’s like the Apple design of rice cookers. Having said that, it works well, it’s really useful and convenient and I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a first time rice cooker – or to upgrade their old one.

        This is the first time I have bought a non-Japanese rice cooker and I admit I was sceptical at first whether it would be as good. I am happy to say that this is better than the £1000 Zojirushi my parents have in Japan. The japanese rice produced is the best I have tasted outside of Japan and the texture is very good. I like the heavy ceramic pot, it seems to give more flavour to the rice. It is a very modern rice cooker, you can see a lot of thought has gone into function and design. The condensation/steam cap thing is a bit awkward to take apart (don’t do it straight after cooking because it is hot). Definitely the best rice cooker I have owned

        This rice cooker has amazing features and has a lovely contemporary design. However it was too large an appliance to be practical in our small kitchen. I hope they introduce a Mini version, then it would be perfect.

        Best decision I’ve made. Effortless rice

        I’m loving my Fuji rice cooker.
        Standard rice is cooked to perfection but my favourite way to do it is by making rice pots where I add carrots, onion, sweet corn, peas and some meat to the raw rice, spice to preference, then using the Yumami setting the Fuji cooks everything to perfection. Mix it before serving for a meal that takes minimal effort and no supervision.
        And if you don’t finish everything, reheat the next day with the keep warm function, takes about 3-5 minutes depending on amount left.
        Favourite setting for cooking is definitely Yumami

        My new favourite appliance

        Really impressed with this rice cooker. Excellent build quality, especially the bowl, and very easy to use.
        So far I have only cooked long grain white rice in it and it cooks the rice perfectly every single time! Wish I had got it sooner!
        The maximum capacity is 4 cups rice grains and is advertised for up to 4 people. 1 cup is actually a lot of rice for 1 person, so you could easily feed more than 4 people.

        My advice: just buy it!
