All of the products on this EU website are sent from our warehouse in Amsterdam, Netherlands. This means you do not get charged any import or customs fees. Our warehouse is very efficient in the dispatch of your order. This is usually done during our operating hours which are Monday-Friday (except public holidays).

What happens after payment...

When you get your email order confirmation that means that your purchase is now on our warehouse system and will already be getting preparing your item/s for dispatch. Once UPS (or DPD) have collected your order from our warehouse you will then receive an email containing details of how you can track the location of your delivery.

Delivery transit times

  • Deliveries to Netherlands is usually the next working day after UPS/DPD have collected from us.
  • Deliveries to France, Germany, Belgium and Ireland are usually made within 2 working days after UPS/DPD have collected from us.

The NL-BGQ05 is a small cooker with an attractive, unique design of a durable clear-coated white and champagne gold exterior. This cooker is designed to be used on 220-240V, 50Hz power and is supplied with both EU and UK power cord and plugs. This Zojirushi model is made in China

The NL-BGQ05 has multi-menu selections which uses Micom (micro-computerised) Fuzzy logic technology to control the temperature for the efficient cooking of many different types of rice including short grain (this is the standard white setting), sushi, congee, long grain and brown rice. There is also a quick cooking feature on this model. The micro computer chip inside the NL-BGQ05 automatically makes adjustments to temperature and heating time – it ensures perfect rice every time. This is what we call the ‘yum factor’.

The Zojirushi NL-BGQ05 has an automatic keep-warm function. There is a countdown feature during the cooking cycle and when the rice is cooked a tune is played and the cooker automatically shifts to keep warm mode. The NL-BGQ05 has a low light LCD display, a 5mm heavy duty Sumiflon/Teflon coated  “kuroatsugama” inner bowl and a convenient detachable inner lid for easy cleaning.

Please note – the BGQ05 is a very small capacity rice cooker. We only recommend the BGQ05 to singles or couples who will not ever cook for anyone other than themselves.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Yes. Zojirushi rice cooker are factory made for UK and European 220-240V, 50Hz power supply.

No. USA units are not compatible with UK and European power supply (they are 110V and 60Hz) and you would need to purchase a bulky and expensive transformer to convert the voltage so you could use it. Transformers for stepping up voltage take up a lot of electricity when converting voltage, are bulky and don’t convert the cyclical electricity frequency of an appliance (ie they don’t convert from 60Hz to 50Hz). We have had several customers who have tried to use US rice cookers with a voltage converter and they do not work or broke within 6 months.

Japanese models are confusing as they are available in both 110V and 240V power ratings. Please take care if going this route.

Yes. The display and menu is in English and the supplied manual is also in English.

Zojirushi rice cookers have lithium batteries that are used only for retaining timer and cooking memory for if there is a power interruption. The batteries have an estimated lifespan of around 5-10 years depending on use.

These batteries are not essential to the operation of the rice cookers but can be replaced only at authorised Zojirushi service centres if you feel you need to have it replaced. After warranty you would need to contact one of these centres if you wish the battery to be replaced. 

We have no plans at all to sell Zojirushi Induction Heating models because the Zojirushi IH models for 220-240V power haven’t passed any CE safety tests for use in the UK or Europe so they therefore cannot be legally supplied within the UK or Europe, so this is why we do not supply them. Not only is there a voltage difference but there is a difference in the frequency of electricity used. The Zojirushi IH models are also very, very expensive to purchase (around £150-200 more than our conventional rice cooker models).

We do have our own branded Induction Heating rice cookers, Fuji YUM-IH07 and Bamboo YUM-IH15/2/B. These are the first IH rice cooker to be made for the UK and Europe. It has many unique rice cooking features which Yum Asia developed using our rice cooker/cooking expertise.

Yes, we supply spare parts for Zojirushi rice cookers for customers who bought their rice cooker from Yum Asia. 

These spare parts need to be ordered in advance and can take approximately 8-12 weeks (minimum lead time) to come in stock.

        I am so glad of my purchase. I received my rice cooker within 3 days in France. Great item, perfect for me as I am single. In fact I could cook for 3-4 people as I don’t eat so much rice ! I’ve already made white thai rice and sushi rice… perfectly. It takes much longer than my older device but the result is way much better. I chose this model because of its thick bowl and the triple heat. I’ll try the congee mode pretty soon. No doubt the Zojirushi brand is a must have for rice cooker.

        Delivery was within 2 days to my Leeds address. Very nice rice cooker. VERY thick bowl which is what I wanted. I can envisage the bowl outliving me it’s so sturdy. Perfect size for me as I live by myself and don’t have a very large kitchen but I do eat rice once a day, sometimes twice a day. I also sometimes like to use it to cook porridge. It does all of this perfectly of course because it is Zojirushi and Yum Asia. These really are high end rice cookers so although they are a bit more money than the cheap rice cooker rubbish you can buy in the UK they are definitely worth it. I can’t find any faults so I am happy to give this cooker 5 stars and 5 stars for Yum Asias service.

        Hello yumasia and thank you for a great service. I had a Zojirushi NS-LAQ05 for 5 years and it has performed exceedingly well but I wanted to buy something new and went for this NS-BGQ05. It has a much thicker bowl than my old Zojirushi and is very nice lookins, in fact, better than the photos show. The few extra functions such as long grain and the reheat feature are nice to have. Looking forward to at least another 5 years of daily use of another Zojirushi. I also recommended your new Sakura rice cooker to a friend of mine who wanted to enter the world of premium rice cooking. Hope this helps you.
